Great dining experience. Got to the place 5 minutes early before opening, and still got service. Very nice and clean interior. Sat at the bar, the bartender Paul was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable of the food and drinks. Apps, main course, and dessert were very good, especially for the price. I'm not from DC, but if you are from this area or staying at a hotel nearby, I highly recommend this place.
My only suggestion is that the restaurant should consider extending this wonderful experience throughout the week. Aside from Monday evenings and Sunday brunch, the rest of the week features only small, bland, and overpriced dishes that leave you unsatisfied. I really hope the owner takes this feedback to heart because many others likely share my view. The vibrant atmosphere and great dinner/drink menu available on Monday nights are a real highlight for Silver Spring!
Last night for the first time for drinks and appetizers, and had a great time. Originally it went to Sidebar, but it was closed for a private function so went to the restaurant. Ordnete her specialty Manhattan and her turn of the Century gin martini. Very good drinks. Also ordered their truffle cheeseries, boneless reserve ribs and some Maryland oysters. All excellent and good service at the bar. I'll be back.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the DC area, and while I rarely go to Silver Spring, I will gladly make the trip up the red line just to go to Jackie's. I love that they focus on using local, fresh ingredients in preparations that aren't fussy or too out of the box. It's like good home cooking taken up a notch. I enjoy their pop tarts at brunch; they're buttery, flaky and filled with raspberry jam or nutella (you may get two different ones in 1 basket). And their café nights on Mondays are so worth the price fried chicken with potato salad and collard greens for $15? Yes, yes and yes.
I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. I visited on Wednesday, which they mentioned is one of their quieter days. The restaurant has recently adopted a multi-course meal format, and the dishes are both creative and exceptionally tasty. The scallops were probably the best I've ever had, and the duck pavilion was also amazing. The mushroom and caramelized end vegetable dishes were not only delicious but also ingeniously crafted. The dessert was rich and sweet, making it the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. Each course was beautifully presented; they truly felt like works of art. The service was outstanding and friendly, which added to the experience. Since this gem is just a short walk from my home, I will definitely return. I can’t express enough how impressed I was; in their eight years of operation, they’ve come very close to perfection. This hidden treasure, located near the border of Silver Spring and DC, is well worth a visit. The only minor issue was that some of the booths need repair, but aside from that, the interior was beautiful, colorful, and funky.
