Nick's Diner - Silver Spring
Nick's Diner
Description
Nestled in Wheaton, Nick's Diner evokes a nostalgic charm with its old-fashioned decor and diner ambiance, while its food remains a point of contention. Many patrons rave about the delicious, hearty breakfasts and warm, friendly service, making it a beloved neighborhood staple for families. However, conspicuous mismatches in decor and cleanliness issues in the kitchen have left some diners concerned. While the diner excels in serving comforting meals at reasonable prices, consistency in food preparation and ambiance is vital. For a genuine local experience, Nick’s offers a taste of home, but be prepared for varying impressions.

We were greeted 3 times, warmly, by one patron and 2 staff before we were even seated. That was lovely! The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a Diner. Efficient, Speedy, Friendly, and Delicious. Oh, and the prices are good too. I highly recommend it! The home-fries are so good! Service: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Review: A True Gem of a Diner Excellent food, top-notch service, and great company—this spot checks all the boxes! It definitely brings back memories of classic New York diners. The atmosphere is welcoming, the dishes are delicious, and everything is served with care. Be sure to come early—it gets packed quickly! But trust me, the wait is absolutely worth it. A must-visit for anyone craving a real diner experience. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The restaurant's furniture and decor are severely outdated and mismatched. They have portraits of mykonos next to a kids style print of Noah's ark. The waitress was sweet and apologetic, but the food tasted like they dropped an entire container of salt into everything. Will not be visiting again.
This is definitely the best classic diner in the DMV area. Although the space might feel a bit small and cramped, it's an absolute joy to visit for breakfast. The food comes out quickly and tastes fantastic! Since it's a Greek diner, there are plenty of Mediterranean choices as well. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home. I highly recommend it!
