Reviews - Mandarin
Reviews summary
Mandarin Restaurant offers generous portions and fresh ingredients, making it a popular choice among diners seeking satisfying meals at reasonable prices. While some dishes have been criticized for their authenticity and seasoning, many patrons celebrate the flavorful options such as the spicy beef chow fun and various shrimp dishes. The attentive and polite service, particularly from staff member Joseph, adds to the overall experience. However, inconsistent food quality and a lack of certain amenities have been noted, leaving customers with mixed feelings about their visits.

Owner was extremely rude when they forgot to put sauce on my food, he claimed I did not tell him to do so when I asked for a compensation because at this point, my food is cold. I can’t eat it dry. He said he can’t give anything for free. He hung up on me more than 10 times. He is extremely rude and disgusting when dealing with his customers and he should not be in business Zero stars never going again !!! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
The food was just ok. The beef broccoli had no flavor, the lo mein was very garlicky, and the genral tso's chicken was not spicy (but it was the best thing I got). Next time, I am going to panda express. Food: 2

Shrimp and Broccoli lunch special it was good but who the world told them that frozen vegetables go in fried rice needs to thrown out of kitchens the way restaurants and carry out making food these days might as well do yourself price was reasonablewith extra egg roll-shrimp hade 3 shrimp inside of egg roll which was a plus the ladies were very nice
Big portion but mediocre I have Chicken Lo Mein and Kung Pao Chicken for $16. PRO: Big portions for share, fresh vegetables -CON: not authentic, low quality chicken meat. I like the Lo Mein but the Kung Pao Chicken is baseless. No vinegarsand no Szechuan pepper. Never see people use chicken pop for this dish before.
I’m from Illinios and it can be difficult to find a good restaurant while on vacation in a new city but Mandarin Restaurant is a good find. The food was fresh, delicious, and reasonable. Also, the staff was very polite and helpful, especially Joseph.
Recently moved from Philly and struggled to find a good Chinese restaurant. Mandarin is not just acceptable but it's one of the best Chinese restaurant I've been to. I've only tried the general tso's chicken and chicken and brocolli but both weredelicious. But their fried chicken is *chef's kiss*.
Absolutely not. I have never tasted such bland food. This dish (in the photo) tastes like NOTHING. I also ordered 3 piece chicken fries with mambo sauce. Mediocre. The steak and cheese egg rolls and the shrimp egg rolls I?ve tasted much much better. I was so excited then immediately disappointed. It?s been years since I?ve had this type of food since I no longer reside in the dmv.

I usually only order two items from this restaurant: the shrimp egg roll and the General Tso TVP. There aren't many places in the DC area that offer TVP for those of us who enjoy vegan meals from time to time, but this spot does it exceptionally well! The flavor is great, and the lunch combo is a fantastic value. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a delicious plant-based cheat meal! The shrimp egg roll is also incredibly tasty and full of flavor.
The portion sizes for the Curry Shrimp lunch special, Szechuan Beef lunch special, and Hot and Sour Soup were all satisfying. I really appreciated the vegetables in both the shrimp and beef dishes; the zucchini, carrots, onions, fresh mushrooms, and pea pods were delightful. The crunchy noodles that accompanied the hot and sour soup were a nice touch. However, I felt that the food could have used more seasoning, as it was a bit bland for my taste.
Consistently good, delivered hot and fresh food! I love the veggies that are included with the hunan shrimp and the shrimp egg rolls are delicious! Yummy crab rangoon as well!
The food arrived hot and fresh; however, the egg rolls were a bit soggy and lacked crispiness. Despite that, the dishes are always delicious.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and ordered delivery for my first night here, and it was fantastic! The food arrived sooner than I expected, and the delivery driver was careful and wearing a mask. I ordered the vegetarian sesame chicken, edamame, vegetable fried rice, and crab rangoon. I know it sounds funny, but I wanted leftovers! My previous neighborhood didn’t have any good delivery options. I sampled a bit of everything, and the sesame faux-chicken was the standout—it was the best I’ve ever had! I will definitely be ordering again!
After almost two years, I returned to this restaurant since I moved away and due to the pandemic. I've really missed this place! The taste is still amazing, the prices are very reasonable, and the customer service—especially from Joseph—is fantastic. I couldn’t take a picture because I was too busy enjoying my delicious extra spicy beef chow fun!
