We love to support local so when we saw this new spot, we had to check it out. We ordered the smoking’ hot fried chicken sandwich , 6 piece tenders, the brisket sandwich, potato wedges and Oreo shakes. We were pleasantly surprised how flavorful, tender but not over seasoned everything was. The kids loved the Oreo shakes too! We love this local gem and will definitely return.
This was disappointing, overall. Four adults ate, all found the food pretty below average. Smoked Wings were awful, just awful. Even took them back to the counter and asked if this was how they were normally cooked and looked and was told, yes. Overcooked and over rubbed. Ate one and threw the rest away. Brisket sandwich was average at best. So much salt/pepper/shake on the chopped brisket the taste of anything else was masked. Chicken sandwiches below average on flavor. Brussels Sprout with honey and spice were very good and I would recommend. Mac and cheese was bland, no real flavor. Tenders were bad. Fries about average. Biscuits were solid and I would recommend. It was around 2:30 on a Sunday but it was a slow process. Almost 30 minutes from order to food being ready and there was very little other traffic as far as customers or take out orders. Always looked appealing when I drove by, but will not be returning now that I have experienced it! Much better food options in the area.
We are regulars at Fryers and the Money Muscle BBQ menu for takeout. The prep time is usually very fast (no more than 15 min), and food is consistently good. Our favs are the chicken tenders, ribs, brisket, as well as Mac and cheese. I have yet to be disappointed.
We had a bad experience here, showed up around 2:30pm, and were served chicken dryer than a desert, the crisp coating dry but with the benefit of a burned flavor. We were sure that this chicken was made MANY hours before the server was happy to give it to us, as though selling 3 1/2 hour old heat lamp ruined fried chicken was perfectly acceptable. (Do they have a fresh chicken policy? pitch after 15 mins?, 30? sell EVERY piece till it 's gone?)We were really looking forward to some top shelf fried chicken and we 're sure that is what most people get when they get their to go orders. Even if it was a fluke (likely), the idea of spending here again is as ruined as the chicken they served us... deeply disappointed.
