Located amidst a plethora of Italian restaurants, this spot fell short - hard pasta and tough chicken parm. Despite sweet servers, meals weren't up to par for the price. On the contrary, a Chicago classic, this bustling eatery offers off-menu delights like veal parmigiana and delightful black linguine, perfect for group gatherings. A disappointing experience for another reviewer, who left due to long waits and uninventive dishes. However, a bright spot for many who praise the rich pasta, intimate atmosphere, and top-tier service by waitstaff like Maddy. Despite some ups and downs, the neighborhood place is adored for its consistent eats, especially the must-try pork chop. Overall, this restaurant is a delightful spot for delicious Italian fare, perfectly paired wines, and warm service, despite a few missteps on certain occasions.

Was Anonym at Tarantino's a mag?
Went on a Sunday night. Seated promptly, great table. We split a pasta for our appetizer it was very good. We had the pork chop (done perfectly) and Osso Buco. Both were excellent. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Tarantino's:
This restaurant is not worth the expensive price tag. I was very disappointed when I was served a $25 plate of pasta to have over cooked bland food served to me. We added chicken sausage to one of the pasta dishes and they had served us TraderJoes Italian chicken sausage cut up and microwaved into the meal. Manager was very generous in refunding the entrees but the expensive price tag will steer me clear of this rest... View all feedback.
We had been looking forward to trying Tarantinoâs for a while, and were excited to finally eat there. However, our experience was rough from the get go, we waited over minutes for a server, despite the restaurant being half empty. We eventually had to track down a bus boy and ask him to find our server for us. The server apologized but was quiet and quick each visit for the rest of the evening. We both ordered steaks which were sub-par to say the least. We ordered one steak medium, the outside of the steak was beyond charred and tasted off, the middle was rare-medium rare, not medium. The second steak came out with mushrooms despite requesting no mushrooms. After a quick replacement, the medium well steak came out also incredibly charred, on a burnt level on the outside, with a **** middle. The asparagus was strong and chewy, however, I will add that the tomato salad and chocolate cake both tasted good, so hopefully the steaks were just a fluke. We saw excellent reviews and had high expectations, but needless to say, we were incredibly disappointed in our night at Tarintinoâs.
At Tarantino 's on Armitage the food was just okay. Not bad, not good. I had the Rigatoni and it was just okay. My husband had the Chicken Piccata and he said it was very tasty. I thought the prices were high especially any of the desserts. The server was just okay. Not rude but not friendly. The friendly person was the guy refilling our water and the hostess. It was very noisy. The tables are crowded and very close. The ceilings are tin and high. The tables are covered in paper so there was nothing for sound reduction. After dinner the four of us were all so happy to get out onto the street where we could talk without yelling. In other reviews I read complaints about the restaurant stressing that you could only stay 90 minutes. That was not mentioned to us at all. Maybe because were arrived at 7pm and 90 min was 9pm. I think this restaurant needs to check into what they can do to cancel some of the noise. This restaurant does the adding 3% to your bill that you can request they take off. They say this hidden cost is to offset their increasing costs. This is so deceptive and I don 't want to go to a place that uses that tactic. They should raise their prices and have our true cost on the menu out in the open. Not to mention it is obvious that their prices have gone up to reflect their increasing costs. We are not planning to return. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
