My Place South Loop Restaurant/bar

This is my second and last time ordering from this place. The first time I ordered shrimp egg foo yong. It was four patties each had about 3 large shrimp in side in order words it had wwwwway more egg and foo than shrimp. All three patties were burnt on the bottom but I didn’t know that until I started eating one, because they were placed in the container with the burnt side down. The Best in Cantonese Food. Good Service and very friendly owner, Andy. I have been told that their Head Chef worked with the Peninsular Group before came to open their own restaurant with friend.

Try the lamb curry! So aromatic and flavorful. Definitely a must try. The place is usually pretty busy, with lots of regular customers and decent service. Update for 2021: oh my stars and heavens, my favourite Chinese place in Chicago not only survived the pandemic, but it got swanky new digs in the South loop!! Amazing food, great service. My Place is my go-to spot for authentic Chinese cuisine here in the South Loop. The staff are all so welcoming and attentive. The pricing also cannot be best. The combo box comes with entree, chicken fried rice, and an egg roll and there are like a couple dozen different entree options you can choose from. For $12 you get so much food!! When I don’t order the combo box set, I usually order the salt and pepper shrimp or the lemongrass chicken wings. Everything i’ve had here is so tasty!

Jason the bartender is the coolest guy ever. Also, almost every single item on their menu is delicious. Rock solid execution of all the staples and their smoothies, apps and specialty dishes are fantastic as well. Also, extremely quick for pickup and delivery.
