Make sure you're a properly attired “hipster ” and bring plenty of Under cooked Flatbread and over priced drinks is not what the city needs. The hostess directed us to the bar, and promptly forgot about us while waiting on a table. 3 other couples arrived after us and within a few minutes were at a table. (Without reservations! Octopus was incredible, some of the best I've ever had; the baba ganoush was the best I've ever had; roasted lamb was a treat.
Beatnik on the River, an outpost from the regular Beatnik over in West Town, is a great spot just a few blocks northwest from the Sears Tower, a spot that is easy to overlook if you're staying north of the river, or just hanging out on the riverwalk. But, you shouldn't overlook it, it's great! The Pros: — It seems like there's always a seat somewhere. Good food, great scenery. Very expensive. Expensive to get too and parking is difficult and expensive.
The drinks are delicious, and the setting is lovely.
