we visited a few times and the food was always excellent. at our recent visit we have tried out the new specials that were excellent. the meals and drinks are good and the young waiter is pleasant and helpful. a tiny point is that it would be nice to have a few more choices for vegetarian and vegan. What User doesn't like about The River Rail Country Inn:
had a nice 40 minutes drive to lunch on the river. Eating starts at 12 o'clock we have there at 2 o'clock to say that they stop serving food as they bombarded the handful of tables eating. disappoint! Maybe they need a rethink for...the summer months when it is extra busy: View all feedback.

Dipped for a Sunday dinner and without. the (I think, manager) was challenged and very rude. Didn't they know if she had one table and we had to wait for her to be angry when she tried to do her order? will not happen again! scham seemed to make a nice stop after a nice walk in the countryside.
My wife and I decided to visit the river and the rail for lunch on a sunny day in august and, while the pub was not the most attractive, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the fish goujons were an absolute joy. I suspect we were there on the day in the august that the reviewer was also present below and the conversation we heard was very courteous on the side of the young lady and the lack of booking the reason given that not in the situation to offer lunch for the canoe party, Kovid restrictions obviously caused some restrictions. we enjoyed our visit very much and will come back soon.
By far the worst experience of our summer, and a view shared by all of our group of adults/couples who were directed to the pub as part of a day canoeing the river severn. It seemed that everything and anything was too much trouble for...some very unfriendly staff and that no one was actually interested in taking our money. Empty tables, but not able to provide any food, even a basket of chips or a cold sandwich. A request for a coffee was received with almost distain. It was a beautiful sunny day and a missed opportunity to make some easy money. I simply don’t understand how these types of business hope to survive or make a profit when the simple things like a smile, manners and a thank you are missing.
