My two friends and I went for dinner on the final night of our narrow boat journey. The restaurant offered excellent value, with attentive staff and reasonably priced drinks. We took advantage of the 'over 60's' menu, which provided two courses for £12, and we were very pleased with the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. View all feedback.
What Jackie H doesn't like about The Red Lion Grill:
As a vegan it can be challenging to get a decent food option on some restaurant menus but never have I seen such a poor offering for a meal before. A warm Mediterranean salad consisted of a lettuce and badly chopped red onion, and some sort of dressing; not even an olive or tomato to be seen.Just appalling, not filling, not nutritionally balanced and certainly nothing like a colourful Mediterranean salad and based on... Our waitress Seren was lovely, polite, and accommodating and extremely helpful. The food was delicious. The chairs are so comfortable.
Lovely atmosphere, good parking and friendly helpful staff perfect start to a great evening with excellent food and beer pies to die for and a good curry
My visit to the lion was a wonderful relaxing and very pleasurable experience. From the moment we walked in the door the atmosphere, service and quality of food was next to none. We had two courses both of which were presented beautifully and the taste and flavours were outstanding. All the staff were friendly and attentive ensuring we had everything we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. The owner Jacqui checked on us a few times and even though the restaurant was busy, she made the time to have a chat with us at the end of our meal. The price was very reasonable and within what to expect for such great food and service. I would recommend if your looking for that somewhere to have a special celebration meal or just a relaxed everyday event, then the Red Lion is the place to go. I will certainly be returning when I next visit from Devon.
We had a wonderful family celebration at the Red Lion. There were 14 of us and we had the upstairs room, which was lovely. The staff provided excellent service and took great care of us. The food was delicious and the overall experience was fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.

The dish so lacked any thought and culinary expertise and truly amazing that it could be served as a meal. Very disappointed
