What User doesn't like about The Holly Bush Cafe:
we arrived at the church stretton from the hills at about 2.55 clock and everywhere we tried to get food that was no longer served. we were not the only ones who went from place to place! the youths here had obviously cleaned themselves and were ready to close...3 as their sign said, but they saw that we were starving and were really friendly and helpful to cook for us. we have a really fab, tasty ham sandwich and a... Visited for first time this morning and ordered a double expresso. It was lukewarm and very bitter. I was charged £3.90 !!!!! Yes, three pounds ninety !!! The local price in Stretton is £2.20 to £2.30, Berry's and Jemima's Kitchen. I complained but to no...avail. I am angry with myself for paying this bill. What kind of fool am I? No more homemade pies. For 7.50 you get a thin slice of cottage pie chips peas and gravy. Pre covid you got a pie 20 times bigger. Same with the steak pie. Far too dear for miniscule portions.
What a fantastic cafe! Completely nailed the menu to satisfy the three of us. Perfect jacket potatoes, excellent panini, superb sausage, egg and tomato sandwich and a chip butty to die for. Lovely coffee and a stupendous hot chocolate. We don’t often find somewhere that hits...the spot for our different wants. This place is unassuming, simple and just right. We are already planning what we will have here for lunch tomorrow
Had a nice stop here for brunch. Sausage bap was ok sausage a bit overcooked but that was only complaint. Friendly welcome and nice ambience. Good value for money. It's the perfect place for some refuelling after a trip up the Long Mynd, sitting at the foot of the road up the hill.
