We have used mandarin for 15 years but tonight we ordered a takeaway and it was awful. The chips were dry and chewy, the curry sauce was like eating powder and the gravy had no taste. We won’t be returning.
Our local Chinese so gave it a try for take way the first time since moving here and very disappointed. Food was cold when we collected it clearly cooked well before the time stated for collection and although it tasted good at the time, the dry mouth and dehydration afterwards was awful. Clearly far too much salt/MSG in the food. Staff were unfriendly, and the sheer mass of 'covid protection ' filthy plastic sheeting billowing around the service counter was most off putting. We won 't be going back.
After relocating numerous times and sampling various restaurants, we consistently find ourselves returning to Mandarin in Frankwell. They truly stand out as the best choice for us.
It was basically noodles chicken, no bits of veg (spot the bean sproats) very dry, usually love this place, but disappointed on this occasion
