I bought some Usuki Senbei! A friend told me about a snack shop near the Usuki Stone Buddhas, so I didn't go to the Buddhas, but only visited Goto Seika. There were various types of senbei, so I bought about seven kinds, but I still felt that the traditional senbei was the most delicious.
I purchased the Usuki Senbei thinly baked brown sugar flavor. It was meticulously coated with honey by hand, allowing the flavor to seep into the senbei perfectly. The parts with honey pockets, likely formed by hand, had an even richer taste and were incredibly delicious! The ginger flavor paired perfectly with tea. Moreover, the glossy texture when it touched my lips, the beautiful sound of breaking the senbei open like high-quality pottery, made me realize the amazing craftsmanship involved in handwork. This is not just a souvenir for tourists! It is a splendid masterpiece showcasing exceptional artisan skills!
