Delicious hand made Taiwanese style dumplings! The shop owner is a real sweetheart, and is an amazing host. Vegan/Vegetarian friendly, and very fresh produce used in each dumpling. Two plates of dumplings is plenty for 1 person. Make sure to try the vegetable fried rice, and the pork/mixed veggie dumplings View all feedback.
What 1Cozzi P (2 5 years ago doesn't like about Senjou Gyoza:
6ish seater restaurant with many menus everywhere but we were not allowed to choose what we wanted as the host just asked if we were hungry and after we said we were vegan she just chose 8 dumplings each for us. Received two of the same colourful 8 dumpling set which tasted okay. Only while we were eating (no other customers were there) did I notice a cockroach crawling over the wall and the menus posted on it. Would... View all feedback.
A small, out of the way restaurant, but definitely worth the trip! The gyoza are delicious, handmade, and steamed to perfect texture. The atmosphere was excellent, and the lady who served us was friendly, cheerful, and gave us one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in our years here. I would highly recommend not even looking at the menu, as she heard I was vegetarian and produced a wonderful plate of mixed gyoza. I’ll definitely be visiting again as soon as I can!
Came here with some vegan and vegetarian friends. The owner is lovely and the food was delicious. It’s a small joint and everything is made by hand. There is also an English menu but we just asked for a mix. We’ll definitely be back!
I came here searching for a place where to have a proper vegan plate. It was at my birthday, and I didn’t realize this at first, but this was a place I looked for and put on my list to check, so it was a very fortunate encounter. It’s run by an old lady which will ask how hungry you are (as I had read from another reviewer here), in English. She also asks if you’re eating meat, vegetarian or vegan. Afterwards she will point out to some choices, the menu is only in Japanese on the table, detailing the dumplings, which was ok with me as I wanted those. On the wall you can see other dishes, so if you’re feeling like eating something else listed there, you can try asking at the time, especially if you know Japanese well, but I’m sure the owner will not mind at all explaining in English too, with some patience. The dumplings were very tasty, I got a multicolored set, and for me 1000 yen was enough (I saw people lamenting about the price, but for me it seemed ok). The style is homemade, and the place is unfortunately small but still cozy: there are 3 tables with 2 seats each, so if it’s not busy and you have 6 friends or less, it’s perfect to visit. A group came right after which was actually speaking my language, so I explained to them my own experience and recommended the dumplings too. I was hurried a bit but wanted to thank the owner and mention it was a very nice experience to have at my birthday.
Loved the vegan dumplings here! Perfectly chewing wrappers with crispy bottoms. The shop owner spoke English and was very kind. Only six seats and the door was left open the entire time for ventilation. Due to COVID, they do not offer the full menu at this time and only have dumplings available.
Fantastic dumplings that are vegetarian friendly with outstanding service. The place is a cozy little spot close to many hotels/Ryokan in Ikebukuro. The lady that greeted us spoke perfect English and had many vegetarian options along with meat options for those so inclined (she asked us if we were vegan so I would assume it'd be available). We're only here for another night and plan to head back tomorrow after some drinks!
