The food was excellent, per usual. The atmosphere was festive with live music, dance. The service was attentive. The only comment I would make is that the interior decoration begins to feel old and they might want to refresh a bit with new floor coverings and some color. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Great Greek:
My parents were from Greece, so this may not be fair. The food was just fair. Some items were good (the lamb and chicken kebob), some not (tarama and the dolmas). And, the restaurant needs some updating remodeling. But, the service was quick and attentive. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant, but only reservedly. View all feedback.
This is a wonderful place to have celebrations. Food is fantastic, service is on high level, atmosphere is unbelievably positive and great. Highly recommend this place to create happy hours of life.Food: 5/5
What a fun place to eat. Went for my friends birthday and it just the 3 of us. Absolutely enjoyed the food and the live music they have every night. The flaming cheese is where it’s at! I honestly been telling more of my friends that we need to go so I can have an excuse to go again. Also, the new waitress Ali was just a delight. She was so attentive and made the experience that much more fun.
Great healthy tasty food for a reasonable price and with beautiful Greek live music.Food: 5/5
My husband and I had a wonderful visit for dinner at The Great Greek Restaurant in Sherman Oaks on June 18, 2023. The hostess, Oriana and our waiter, Peter, and other staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The restaurant was fun and festive with live Greek music performed by very talented musicians, Gerasimo and Dobren. We started off with a Tarama, a favorite Greek caviar dip with grilled pita bread which was simply outstanding. They state that “Our centuries-old recipe is among the world 's best” and I absolutely agree as I have ordered it in many Greek restaurants across the United States. We then enjoyed a crunchy and flavorful Peasant Chopped Salad with chopped romaine lettuce, lots of wonderful feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, capers, bell peppers, red onions, red and green peppers and a Greek vinaigrette. My husband ordered the delicious Moussaka, with baked eggplant, ground beef, Greek spices and bechamel sauce. Wanting to sample many dishes off of the huge menu, I ordered the Combination Plate which featured House specialties on a large platter- pastitsio pasta, moussaka, stuffed grape leaves, spinach cheese pie spanakopita , lamb of the day, oven-roasted potato, rice pilaf, and the vegetable of the day. It was incredible and I had lots to take home with us and so did my husband. We saw many other dishes we wanted to try next time. We enjoyed reading the history of the restaurant and its artwork which included fascinating political posters and more. The valet service was so convenient and one gentleman had worked there since 1984 and was very nice. We HIGHLY recommend a visit to The Great Greek with family and friends! They won’t let you leave hungry!
