Riverside Cafe - Shere

Without doubt a great little fine in the Valemount area. We had a buffet dinner that was excellent with beef which was tender and delicious, with soup , a great selection of salad, vegetables and desert. You can also order fish and chips as well (very reasonable price) In Summer it will be even better as you will be able to sit outside....looking over the the Fraser River and the mountains.We are going to Sunday brunch tomorrow and I will let you all know about how it was.

We came here for the Brunch Buffet. We really enjoyed it, breakfast items of eggs and bacon, sausage and ham, pancakes, eggs Benny, there is soup, salad, fruit and a desert bar. You won't leave hungry here. Staff was great too.

Great little place. I have driven by numerous times and it was finally this time that my soon-to-be wife and some friends dropped in and we are so glad we did. The view was fantastic, the food was fantastic, and the host was fantastic! He told us some history around the place and treated us like family. I had the buffet and it was outstanding. I ate at the Caribou Grill a few days later and honestly the Riverside Cafe was better. Just off the highway near the junction, the Riverside Cafe is a can't miss stop for any weary traveller.

We were recommended by our hostess at our B & B just up the road from the restaurant. The location is beautiful, right on the river. The restaurant is quite small but there was plenty of seating and a healthy turn over of guests. The menu is comprehensive offering something for all tastes. We chose the bacon and cheese burgers. They were delicious, probably the best since we arrived in Canada. The owner is German and was friendly and welcoming as were the rest of the staff. There was a well stocked salad bar and an array of delicious looking puddings. There was a campsite/RV park next door so ideally placed to enjoy the food here. There was a feeding station just outside the window for humming birds and a male and female visited all the time we were there. The only downside was the mosquitoes, we couldn't eat outside as they were rampant, but there were almost as many indoors. Apparently it is a bad year for mozzies, I can testify to that. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Life has its own way of springing nice surprises! Well today was one of those days. Our B&B owner suggested we have dinner at the Riverside Cafe. She stated that the view was stunning and that the food was plentiful and delicious. She was bang on. The view is spectacular. We sat outside on the deck for nearly two hours and enjoyed the buffet from the salads through to the scrumptious desserts. If ever we come back in this neck of the woods, we'll certainly return here.
