Cafe Caus - Sherbrooke
Cafe Caus
Description
Nestled within the university, this quaint eatery presents a mix of experiences. While some diners express disappointment over food quality and value for money—highlighting issues like stale sandwiches and imbalanced poutine—others praise the restaurant for its friendly staff and fresh, flavorful meals. Many appreciate the balanced menu that caters to various dietary preferences, although caution is advised for vegans due to shared cooking surfaces. Despite varied opinions, the restaurant shows potential as a casual dining spot for students, offering both healthy options and a welcoming atmosphere, albeit with room for improvement in consistency and quality.

Feedback
The food quality at this restaurant is disappointing, especially considering the steep prices. Paying $8 for a tiny sandwich with stale bread drenched in tomato juice is unacceptable.
If you find yourself needing to ration the amount of cheese you consume in a poutine (approximately one-third of a curd every three bites) in order to prevent being overwhelmed by a massive pile of fries by the end, there is a significant issue. It is best to steer clear of this particular poutine.
Good morning. It's really unfortunate that the café closes at 7 p.m. There are no other options available on campus at the end of the day.
Low quantity of daily specials for the price, low choice of hot meals, I have seen school canteens with more varied dishes that really taste better.
It’s literally the worst canteen I’ve ever been to. There is just nothing to eat. Please, change your sandwiches/burgers/onion rings to normal food. Your «pho» soup is okay, but it’s impossible to eat it every day. The salad bar is somewhat satisfying but again, a salad is a good side dish, but there’s no main dish to accompany it.Also, people don’t get hungry after 15:00 you think? It’s absolutely hilarious how they want to build a research hub at UdeS, but researchers have to think about how to eat on campus, or where to eat after 15:00.
