I was tempted to give it one star because this gem of a pub would be spoiled with hoards arriving and I hope it stays exactly as it is. Ross and Sarah have created the most incredible pub with great local drinks. The decor reflects them as genuine authentic people. It is a one- off and could never be copied or franchised. What davestly doesn't like about The Timber Batts Pub Forge:
Quirky or strange are apt works to describe this place. A mix of stuffed animals, manikins wearing gas masks and other distinctly odd memorabilia. The fathers day BBQ was good though, despite the weather being unkind. I would happily return, although my wife would have been more pleased to see the animals unstuffed. View all feedback.
I haven't been a public for a long time, but this place is now my regular one. absolutely love the place,Ross,Sarah and family are the largest. really is something of the norm. excellent music and live bands, a must for people who want something else. great atmosphere, not a camp boy pub. they can simply cool themselves, no matter who they are, where they are or how they look, everyone is greeted and treated with respect. great eating, real ciders and real ales. plus moonshine cocktails that are really beautiful:
I had booked myself on a day forging course with ross, but regrettably on a day the pub was not open (closed mon, do, wed . However, the delicious lunch and afternoon coffee and cakes were served in the pub, which incredibly with tons of paraphernalia throughout the business were like a cross between a museum and antique business mixed with a crazy steampunk as you. really good looking selection at local ales (no sheps hurrah! and more zider. when the pub was closed, I helped me to clean up after lunch and was allowed in the kitchen that was absolutely impeccable. ross is too proud of his pizza oven and they can see the enthusiasm he and his wife bring to the place. the kaos forge is right next door and ideal for all forgings (booking is essential! . can not wait to get back to another course when the bar is open!
We came a very cold Sunday looking for a bite to eat. my gutters have rented a holiday home, throwing a stone away, so it seemed the logical choice. when we parked we could see the exterior decoration while mainly old land pub, the strange eclectic bit of wonder were deceived. then we entered. we just got the lunch service at lunch, which was excellent. so tasty and healthy. back to the decor. Now I have never sat and had dinner with a window doll, then there are the bizarre but breathtaking furniture and furniture. Oh, and a disco light in the Gents toilet. if the chance arises, we will definitely visit again. Thank you.
