Poachers Pocket - Shepton Mallet

The 30 quid steak was just awful. Burnt mushrooms. One tomato. Small flavourless steak. Chips came with a black chip right in the middle. Never thought it was possible to get it this wrong.

Our first visit to this lovely pub in a quiet location,but well worth the drive just for a Harrington roast. Friendly helpful staff and good drink selection. Great food and very reasonable price. We didn't go up for food we met friends up there for drinks the friends had food we went outside to garden where it was cold and got told couldn't come back in to warm up the atmosphere was not great there was only a couple of couples there the friends said they might of wanted puds or even a coffee but didn't feel to welcome to ask won't b back Price per person: £1–10 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

The restaurant has recently reopened and is certainly an improvement compared to our last visit in 2022. The menu offers a variety of tasty options, and the food was outstanding. They also have a great selection of beers. The landlord is very friendly, which adds to the overall experience. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4.
