Cihai Su Xin Cí Hǎi Sù Xīn

We visited a small restaurant in a traditional house style located in the Cien Temple area of the city. The menu offered a wide variety of options at reasonable prices. Despite our limited Chinese language skills, we were able to rely on the photos in the menu, especially in a Buddhist vegetarian restaurant where it is hard to go wrong. We particularly enjoyed the aubergine dish, which was not oily but still flavorful. The standout dish was the spicy and crispy tofu with delicious crispy chillies. The portions were generous, so we ended up with enough food for almost two meals for the price of one. We arrived late for lunch by local standards, so we cannot speak to how the restaurant is when it is busy, but our meal was served quickly and beautifully prepared.
