What Liam Whitby dislikes about Ambulo:

I had the New York sandwich, the menu says it includes pastrami, gherkins etc. Great use of menu trickery as pastrami can be singular or plural, I assumed the latter and then for £8 was greeted with a single slice of it in my sandwich. Calling it a gherkin and cheese sandwich would have been more honest. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2 View all feedback.

Part of the Millennium gardens complex, this is a fairly big airy cafe overlooking Arundel gate. We called in for lunch, it was busy but there were a few tables free. Food offerings are in the range of sandwiches, sausage rolls, etc and sweet treats, scones, flapjack, etc. Sandwiches are order at the counter and then it's brought out to your table. Although busy we didn't have too long to wait. Will go back for further visits.

Great atmosphere quiet and a lovely natural light, would be a great study space (there’s lots of plug sockets too). However, the food is slightly overpriced for what you get, but it’s still nice and tasty. The coffee was also good and well priced.

I come here often and the food, drinks and atmosphere are great. Good service and fair prices. Good selection for kids, and the cafe and gallery are fully wheelchair accessible.

Where to start? Okay. Our first mistake was to ask if there was table service; we hadn 't been in for several years. This seemed to trigger a hostile response, but undaunted, we pressed on. On asking for poached eggs on toast I was told there was only white bread. Tiger bread. What joy! Then, after some thought, I was told I could have 'uncut bread. ' After some questioning it turned out that this was from an unsliced loaf and would require cutting. So I said I 'd have that. Probably another mistake. After a few minutes not too long the same member off staff brought most of our order across, dumped the tray and it 's contents onto our small table, and said 'there you go. ' The eggs on toast were okay, but the overall experience was, unfortunately, unforgettable.

Have been past many times and thought it was time to call in. Ambulo is part of the Millennium gallery building, downstairs. It's all nice and spacious , good for accessibility and clean. The staff were polite and did a nice job. Picked up a flat white coffee and a sausage roll today and enjoyed both. The sausage roll seemed to be more home made style, loved it. There are a ton of nice cakes and pastries, and decent choice of sandwiches and drinks. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I had a great dining experience at this restaurant! I ordered the spicy grilled cheese with jalapeños and an icy cold brew, and both were fantastic. Additionally, I want to highlight the young woman working today (September 21st). She really excelled in providing excellent customer service and was a true asset to the café.

This charming café is conveniently located near the railway station, right at the entrance of the Millennium Gallery. The interior is beautifully designed, featuring a floral theme with a lovely blue and pink color palette. The café boasts a window facade and offers plenty of seating. Unlike some other places, like the Tamper Sellers Wheel, it’s not overwhelmingly busy, so there’s no waiting time to be seated. The staff member who took my order appeared to be new and seemed unsure of how to operate the system, as she had to ask a colleague for assistance. I ordered the Eggs Royale, priced at £10.50, which I found to be on the pricey side, but the dish was delicious. The standard Earl Grey tea I ordered was £2.50. Overall, it’s a great location with a pleasant atmosphere, and my experience was positive. However, I did find the meal prices to be a bit steep.

On Saturday afternoon, we visited the restaurant and found it wasn’t very busy before noon. I ordered the caramelized quiche served with salad, and it was truly a culinary masterpiece. The crisp, mixed fresh salad leaves complemented the rich and wonderfully addictive quiche, which was encased in a high-quality short crust (none of the thin, flat crust here!). The combination of the caramelized flavors created a delightful and light taste experience.

This is a great place to meet up with friends for a hot drink or to eat some outstanding food! Quite reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of the food I would definitely recommend the pappardelle ragu! A very chilled out atmosphere, however the service was lacking slightly. Super happy Ambulo has found its way to Sheffield!
