usually good grill sandwiches. $7.25 for brisket sandwich. more than $4 when they fries and add a drink. today (mai 22) tasted the meat as if it had been in a cooler and then reheated. also very dry I assume from the cooler. I have gone to van’s for about 58 years and this is the first bad sandwich I received. 50 cent fee for water that is fair. View all feedback.
My husband I stopped here for lunch while in Shawnee and boy was it worth it. The food was great and the service was even better. While we were waiting for our food, the server came to our table and gave us a scratch off card. It is good for a free side item on our next visit which I promise, will be very soon.
Would I come back? I was immediately greeted by all ladies in the kitchen, not only the checkout nice touch! That was my first visit. I had a few questions and my questions were answered to my satisfaction I ordered the Pig Sandwich Combo (Pulled Pig with (homemade 'n' pleasantly greasy curly pommes. My meal was PROMPTLY on the table. The sandwich was enough. The pig was nice and moist delicate with good smokey touch taste (a bit light, but for my personal preference can vary your milage. The meat itself was luke warm best my reason to push one for review. The fries were fantastic! They were pleasantly soft on the inside with a beautiful crab on the outside. The BBQ-Saucensorte was a nice restaurant option! The facility was completely clean: floors, tables, toilet.
We just had the best pulled pork dinner ever at this restaurant! The green beans were delicious and the macaroni and cheese was amazing. Jimmy and Stacy were very accommodating, preparing our food exactly how we asked, including unsalted fries and toast in a separate container. Thanks again for a fantastic meal!
My excitement for Van's was warranted after an unplanned visit while driving on I-40 in Oklahoma. We stopped by in the afternoon on a busy Saturday and decided to try their sandwich basket specials. My dining companion had the Piggy (Pork) sandwich, while I chose the Brisket with Okra. The pulled pork was delicious and tender, though my brisket was a bit chewy, likely due to being rushed. Despite this, it still tasted great. The restaurant is conveniently located about a mile from the Interstate, but Google Maps seems to have the location wrong and needs updating.
I stopped at Van's for dinner off of I-40 and was not disappointed. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious, with the pork perfectly chopped for added flavor. I'm used to having Coleslaw with my Arkansas grill, so I regretted not ordering it on the side. The Vanized Potato, a creamy twice-baked corn dish, was a standout side option. The staff at Van's was also very friendly and accommodating.
