The Strawberry Thatch Ice Cream Parlour

This is one of our favorite places to visit every time we come to the island. They have an incredible selection of donuts, shakes, crepes, slush puppies, ice drinks, and ice creams. Everything is always fresh and delicious—simply amazing! It's a must-visit if you enjoy this kind of treat. Plus, they have a small mini-golf course that adds to the fun. It can get busy, but it's definitely worth it!

When our plans for the last night fell through, we decided to grab a bite here with the kids, who were really hungry. It turned out to be a delightful evening, featuring delicious crepes, wonderful sunflowers, and amazing doughnuts. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed a lovely time surrounded by great people.

This is a lovely little café with a great selection of dishes including jacket potatoes, sandwiches, cakes, ice cream, and more. They offer a variety of ice cream flavors with delicious toppings; I tried the heavenly and white chocolate ice cream, and it was amazing. The woman who worked there was very kind. The outdoor seating features beautiful white wooden benches, providing a great view of the main road through Shanklin. Additionally, Shanklin Chine is just around the corner, which is a nice bonus.

Oh my goodness!! Even if you don't spend long in Shanklin, make a special trip to the donut hut. The donut sundaes are epic, I can't rate them highly enough!! And the cinnamon sugar donuts. I came back three times in a week because they were so good! Really reasonable prices and they have crepes, ice cream, milkshakes and slushies! The couple running it must be rushed off their feet because it's always so busy but they're really nice and friendly!
