Had a great evening meal with Local Family having made the trip to the Island from Lincolnshire. Steve and his staff were amazing. Loved the location and the ambience of the restaurant. I had an excellent dining experience with fantastic service in a lovely atmosphere. I was really pleased with my spontaneous choice of this restaurant for an evening meal during my holiday.
I visited the restaurant about a week ago and was greeted with a warm welcome. I was not rushed while browsing the menu. I ordered the sirloin steak, which was cooked to perfection, and I appreciated that it was freshly prepared each time. The broth rolls were also excellent. Overall, the quality of the food was outstanding.
One of the better restaurants in Shanklin. The sirloin steak was good, but the pork was quite dry and the potato mash was overly seasoned. The portion size for the starter was quite disappointing. The steak was unevenly cooked; one end was perfect while the other was medium-well. However, the dessert saved the meal and was delicious. We dined at The Cottage just one day later and had a much higher quality three-course meal for a lower price.
