Eichtens Hidden Acres - Shafer

My husband and I have new bikes and thought it would be fun to ride the bike trail from Shafer to Eichtens market. It was a comfortable ride! We were a little disappointed that they didn't have fried cheese curds today but we took their suggestion of salami, cheese and crackers for lunch with some fantastic beer to wash it down! They even sliced the cheese and buffalo sausage for us and opened our beers too. They have the GOOD honey mustard. We sat out on the front patio and watched the procession of vehicles traveling by. It was very enjoyable

Stopped in for lunch today. Food was good but service was non existent. There were 3 tables and one waitress who seamed mad we were there. We ordered the fondue which was delishous but from where we sat we could see our fondue sitting under the warming lights as the waitress stood holding our bread as she talked to the deli staff as our lunch just sat there. I had to walk up to counter to get her to stop talking and bring our food. Never one checked on us after she finally brought our food except to ask if we wanted a to go box as we were still eatting. Brought our bill without asking if we wanted dessert. She got a zero tip for zero effort which is sad because this place could be great.

One of my favorite places to buy cheeses in Minnesota. Sadly it was closed the day we visited but I will return soon.

Great staff and great samples! Always super clean and friendly. Cannot wait til the whole place opens for a bison burger!
