La Taverna Borgo Antico - SGURGOLA

We were in Sgurgola for the fantastic Festa in late September. This was our first visit to this restaurant but it certainly won't be our last. It is small but charming. The quality of the food is excellent and the service is friendly and efficient. Most of all it is gratifying to see that local traditions are being kept alive. In our opinion this restaurant provides a real taste of Italy. Take time to go there. We will be back in Sgurgola just before Christmas and are looking forward to dining here again.

We were in Sgurgola again just before Christmas and dined here for Sunday lunch. Once again the quality of the food was excellent. We had three courses plus a dessert this time. The antipasti, pasta dishes and grilled meats are especially good. The service is very friendly and efficient. We are fortunate enough to be emigrating to Sgurgola in February. We will certainly be regular visitors to this traditional restaurant.

I was a bit surprised after the glowing reviews I read. The pasta was great and the tiramisu lovely. The lamb chop just average. However I enjoyed the rustic decor, just not the price.
