We ate there because many of our friends (including the bride and groom) were staying there. Upon taking our seats there was next to no service and after about an hour wait, we eventually decided to go to the bar ourselves and get some drinks. This unfortunately set the precedent for the evening in terms of service it was slow, but friendly! The food we ordered was exquisite. My wife had a “white” pizza without tomato sauce and I ate a diavolo pizza. Both were beautifully cooked and incredibly good value (around €6). I would recommend Barbitto on two provisos one is that you drive (there is no chance of walking it) and the other is that you do not expect quick service.

The villa is set at the end of country lane surrounded by orchards and vegetable gardens. There are sheep, chickens and a donkey. This was a working farm to table restaurant and few people spoke English but they were warm, accomodating and we communicated with dueling translators . The food was outstanding and we enjoyed the wonderful results of the outdoor, wood fired ovens. The restaurant was packed with locals both of the nights that we were there. The restaurant does have rooms for travelers which were a bit Spartan but clean and functional and a good choice after an evening of great food and wine. If you want an authentic dining experience at reasonable prices, this is the place and we will be back.
