Service excellent and food absolutely delicious...so good, I ate here twice during my seven day stay. No English menu but we managed to muddle through, and unlike one of the previous reviewers, I found the staff to be efficient, attentive and patient with our lack of French...not rude at all. Would thoroughly recommend. Congratulations to the owners on such a great wee place :) View all feedback.
What Alice Toussaint doesn't like about Au Soleil Levant:
I went to this restaurant due to it's good ratings. However I don't think the ratings covered politeness because when I went there to see if they had a table they were full) they were extremely rude. Regardless of how good the actual food...maybe I would never go back after the treatment received. There is no difference between other chinese restaurant.Lucky I found another chinese restaurant named soirée Angkor near View all feedback.
Such a wonderful surprise to find a Chinese restaurant with sit down service and linen tablecloths. Very friendly staff even though we had no reservation on a busy Saturday night. We had the chinois fondue which was very fresh (had to wait a bit as the chef prepared it) and bountiful. Chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops and squid combo with nems starter. Incredibly reasonable prices. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their food. No question that we will return again and again!
The staff here was very friendly. The food was very authentic and reminded me of food from various chinatowns in major cities around the world. It was not the fanciest food but didn't have to be; it was well-made and with excellent ingredients for a good price. They have a dinner deal that gives you an appetizer, main course, and dessert for an even better deal.
We live in Sevres and go to this restaurant about twice a month with the kids or sometimes just the two of us. The food is always tasty and fresh. The staff are lovely, and make you feel really at home. They take into account any strange needs the kids have, such as sauteed frogs legs with salt and pepper, but without the pepper! Price is reasonable. We have never had an upset tummy!
I've been getting take-out at this restaurant almost every week for the past two years, though the first time I ate there was with my family about seven years ago. You'll find Chinese food, prepared by actual Chinese people, and food from other asian countries. I've never been disappointed by what I ate. The food is of good quality, the servings are quite generous, and considering that, it's quite cheap. I once had the traditional full Beijing roast duck (which you have to order 24 hours in advance) with my family. And having lived in Beijing and tried roast duck there, we thought it was very good. The menu offers a lot of choice; it's hard not to find something you like. My personal favorites are the roast duck, caramel pork, and duck with bamboo sprouts and mushrooms. And the nems are absolutely delicious and crispy, so are the fried dumplings. The staff are really nice, efficient, and make you feel welcome. Also, they have quite a lot of space, so it's a nice place to eat with a large group of friends or family. If you want to get take-out, the waiting time isn't very long and the servings are just at generous despite the discount. It's undeniably the best Chinese restaurant in Sèvres.
