The Appalachian - Sevierville

We made dinner reservations to celebrate our anniversary and ordered the 48oz Tomahawk steak, which was priced over $120. As paying customers, we expected a higher level of service, so it was surprising to have to cut our own steak and hold the bone. While there was no formal dress code, we arrived nicely dressed. However, my husband ended up rolling up his sleeves to carve the steak himself. Being from out of state, we’ve dined at several high-end restaurants, and each time we ordered a large Tomahawk steak, it was served already sliced for our enjoyment.

It's not the most budget-friendly option, and if you’re visiting Pigeon Forge with young kids, this may not be the best choice for you. However, if you're in search of outstanding food that, while not inexpensive, offers great value, you should definitely head to the Appalachian. Parking was easy, and they graciously accommodated us even though we arrived early for our reservation. We will certainly make a point to return the next time we're in the area.

The food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience that stands out from the typical options in Pigeon Forge.

This is an amazing restaurant...not just for this town...for the region. Impeccable service with a sophisticated menu of food and drink. They are also very kind....having mailed my left behind card half way across the country!

This was probably the best meal I've had in about 10 years. Local fresh ingredients prepared in interesting ways that harken back to all of the good food my family made growing up. The wait staff was excellent, the atmosphere inviting, and just a wonderful experience. Chef came around to inquire about our experience, a very nice touch. The steak I had and the fish dish my wife had was just ... indescribably good. Just amazing. I can't recommend it enough. Well done!!
