The Cookhouse 1770 - Seventeen Seventy

I'm sorry, but I was very disappointed with the small portion of tough, tasteless meat that was difficult to cut. There was an excessive amount of watery tomato sauce on the plate. The potatoes were only half cooked, and the meal cost $25.00 per person. I regret to say that I would not recommend this restaurant.

We visited Crumbs after hearing some rave reviews that the food was amazing and very cheap.The environment is very relaxing and the staff friendly, like a cafe in the natural environment. We enjoyed the meals we ordered but I wouldn't say they were amazing. For the price, I felt the portion sizes were a little small. For example we ordered a salmon brushetta (that we said we were sharing) for entree. It was lovely but at over $10 I would expect more than one piece per serve. Crumbs is BYO which wasn't a bother to us, however we found our bill at the end of the night was similar to what we would pay at a licenced restaurant including alcoholic beverages. Crumbs is nice. The food is good and the staff are friendly but it does feel like you're paying restaurant prices at a peaceful cafe.

As a cafe owner, we are very fussy on what we call good food or coffee. This place ticked most of the boxes for us. Good coffee. Relaxing setting, and dog friendly (big plus for us).

The service and food was delious and just be on the water was amazing. Was a great start to our time away. we had the works burger and salt and pepper calamari

A Great meal with fantastic hosts, a truly enlightening experience and a must do if you are in and around 1770. My wife and myself ordered the 2 seafood dishes on offer and my son had a large serve of the Spaghetti bolognaise, We all loved our meals and the company of our hosts.main meals are approx $20 a main, give or take a few dollars depending on dish, but the value is in the tasting, best meal we've had for a very long time.
