I have visited the crown several times in the last 3 years, with friends who both have a drink in the garden or in the garden and have an evening meal. have also ordered tasty dishes to pick up which were offered during the lockdown. these were fantastic, both plentiful in quantity, very tasty and very favorable. also have blown the pub, while on a walk over the hills to order a sandwich and coffee in, for example 40... What hateshearings doesn't like about The Crown:
The food is very very average. Don't expect anything other than the usual pub food, but not as well prepared us most places. Shoreham is a lovely place but The Crown is a disapointment. View all feedback.
This restaurant has a charming open fire and quirky decorations that add to its appeal. It has a cozy atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem known mostly to locals. While the menu may not be easily visible, it offers the best value in Shoreham, a beautiful village with fantastic walking paths. The food is decent, offering good value and generous portions, though it may not be groundbreaking in terms of creativity.
Really enjoyed lunch here before a family funeral at the nearby Bluebells crematorium, delicious baguettes served quickly and cheerfully, very atmospheric old building with a lively buzz even on a Monday in November. Ticked all the boxes
Came here after looking at their website.....which we now know needs updating! We were looking forward to a turkey roast for £10, but there wasn't any poultry at all available, just beef, pork or lamb. And roast dinners were £17.50! One of us doesn't eat red meat, so that was a disappointment, and out of the other mains choices, there was only one suitable scampi and chips for £15.00 (instead of the £9.00 on the website). Our meals were nice though, but average pub grub. Large glass of wine a bit on the pricey side too at £8.50. Be aware that parking may be an issue, even though there is a car park, but we were lucky to find a space in the narrow road as the car park was full. Don't know where we would have parked otherwise! Shoreham Village can get pretty busy! A nice pub, but I don't think we'll visit again.
I have visited this restaurant a few times while cycling. It is a charming and friendly pub with excellent beer. The service is always delivered with a smile. A great place to stop for a break.
Visited the Crown for Sunday lunch. Arrived about 220pm. Good selection of food on the blackboards. I had the roast beef which came with your shire pudding, vegetables and a gravy boat. My partner had the cheese and onion quiche plus chips and peas. Both good portions. I had a pint of the Harvey’s Sussex and then a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I then had the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream and my partner the apple pie and custard again good portion sizes. Very friendly staff and good quick service. Recommended.
