Of course it is a place to eat the 'Portuguese fish and chips ', my beloved choco frito. Actually this is the only dish I tried in their restaurant, but certainly the most famous and the most ordered one. The order usually comes quickly to your table and the cuttlefish is soft inside and crunchy outside, not rubbery at all. The tradition of the place is that they offer you açorda, which is good, cause sometimes you just don 't want more potato chips.
This is a nice restaurant with good service. We didn’t eat the fish, but the pork was tasty and the portions large. Wish we had tried the fish.
We had lunch at O Saveiro and sat at one of the outdoor tables. The owner encouraged me to go look at the fresh fish on the glass fridge before we even say down. We ordered the usual condiments of bread, butter, and olives. For entree, we ordered Dorado and Porc Chops. We wanted a large salad, but the server told us that a small salad would be enough for two, which was. The Dorado was perfectly grilled and came with red potatoes. The Porc Chops were actuary thin slices of Porc, which were slightly overcooked and came with rice and chips. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere outside was pleasant. The owner sent us complimentary homemade sherry after lunch.
Here we had (probably) the best Choco Frito in Setúbal. All the food we ordered was delicious, we waited just a couple of minutes after order. The service was very nice, large portions and amazing prices. The desserts were simple and tasty. All of the options we ordered were recommended by the crew, all of them were kind and friendly. Highly recommend.
