Je conseille la per... read more Nous y avons dîner le 12 août. Accueil très sympatique de la patronne. Plats frais sans chichi présentant un excellent rapport qualité prix. Je conseille la perilladas (Un assortiment de poissons..) : copieux et parfaitement cuits. Un régal. En outre la patronne prend le temps de discuter un peu avec vous (les thoniers setois..). Des plats et menus à tous les prix.

A... read more Six people, four foreigners, but we were all in agreement that it was an excellent evening. Three a la carte, steak, monkfish and cod, all thoroughly enjoyed. And an enormous parillada fish platter shared by the three others including myself. Fish all fresh, and each item cod, sardines, prawns etc perfectly cooked. Plus some very friendly waiting staff. Nothing negative to say.

Without any guide to restaurants in Sete we used the old rule of thumb and looked for somewhere busy and, for preference, busy with locals. L'Escale met both criteria. The restaurant seemed to be particularly popular with French families. Service was friendly and efficient, the food was well prepared and not stinted on at reasonable prices. A good spot for lunch.
