I have visited the Bar Epomeo 34 years ago for the first time and then a number of times until 28 years ago, which was my last vistit to Ischia. This year I returned with my wife and as we rented e-bikes we ended up in Fontana a number of times on our bike trips. I love the place, it has a much slower pace than all the busy places on the coast. On nice days it can also get a bit busy because of the Epomeo trail starting nearby. But when the weather is a bit mediocre and the Epomeo is in cloud, this place is magic for me and very relaxing. It is a family show with a lot of italianità. Just sit there, have a drink and a bruschetta and talk a bit to the owner family: quality time.
This is the best bruschetta we have ever eaten- hands down. We stopped in this mountain top(on Mt Epomeo's peak in Ischia) cafe for a quick coffee but got tempted to order the bruschetta after we saw another table with the plate. The dish arrives with 3 hearty slices of home made bread and high pile of tomatoes drenched in oil, garlic and parsley. And you have reached another high!!!
July used with all kinds of people, professional and kind rhymes, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, with citrus fruits, cappuccino, wine and everything else. in front of the tables at the fountain and fresh. for the miracles at the corner there is the church.
A bar you wouldn't give him two liras, but you're surprised. gypsy, pastries and sublimated products
