We... read more We ate dinner here after a hike. Our server was patient and friendly as we selected dishes to share and recommended a Verdejo wine that we enjoyed very much. We ordered croquettas, ensalada de cabra, bread and a cheese plate with 5 extremadura cheeses, which she explained to us. It was fun trying the cheeses, and we had so much that we took some back to the apartment for lunch the next day. Everything we ordered was great.

A cool haven in th... read more Considering where it is (the middle if Monfrague National Park, in what looks like a dusty village out if a Western), this is a bit of a gem. A cool haven in the summer heat, there are some real treats to be had. The croquettas are the best I've had in Extremadura but the real highlight dish is the venison loin with two sauces apple and bilberry. Delicious! Try the traditional desserts too.

Good place to stop and chat with other people visiting park and find out what can be spotted where. Only place for miles, but very reasonable.
