I love this place! as a non-Korean voicer, the order was not the simplest, but it is authentic place like this that reminds me how much I love living in asia. the ladies worked so beautiful and my mapo tofu was delicious. I can't wait to go back, better prepared to order more dinge! the entrance to the building is only to the right when they arrive the stairs of the exit 5 of the yeouido station. you see the number 4... It is located in the 5th floor of the building. do not intimidate the traditional interiors of the restaurant. they have a separate menu dish for vegan. we tried the 깐풍표peifs (fried mushrooms with sweet and spicy sauce) and roasted rice, everything was great!
Vegan specific menu with 33 options. I believe the staff are Buddhist. I had the blackbean noodles and spicy tofu rice both were delicious and I think under 10,000! It’s on the 5th floor in case you have trouble finding it too.
Very delicious The menu vegetarian menu is in Korean and Chinese green book but you can use the main menu yellow that has the items in English and you can try cross reference. The posts below me which pointed out jjajangmyeon 짜장면 can look at the characters to find it and it’s price 6500 and Kkanpunggi style shiitake mushrooms 깐풍표고 which was very amazing my favourite!!! I recommend coming here to get an authentic feel for cuisine. I feel value for money is very good here. The prices are reasonable given the size of the portions. Dishes that are share plates cost more but works out fair considering the number of people eating it. It’s easy to find with the instructions provided below thank you so much! exit out of the subway exit 5 and the building is right in front of you take elevator to floor 5 and turn right and walk to the end that’s the restaurant.
This restaurant has survived in the area for decades, many of its customers being Chinese and Taiwanese tells of its authenticity. I am always amazed by the large vegan menu green color! that is available upon request! There are still so many dishes I have yet to try and so far I have always been happy with the food. Beside the noodles with black sauce Jjajang myeon 자짱면 and noodles in spicy broth Jjamppong 짬뽕 , which are classics at Chinese restaurants, they serve vegan versions of dishes including stir fried or deep fried tofu, mushrooms and vegetables. I highly recommend their Kkanpunggi style shiitake mushrooms 깐풍표고 ! It's spicy and so flavorful! If you are not fond of onions, garlic and the likes or follow a sattvic diet such as Buddhist monks , it is possible to prepare food without those ingredients. Normally, staff will ask you about this, after you inquire about the vegan menu. It can get noisy and busy at times, seeing that it is located within a bustling working district. The Chinese style interior with plastic table cloth and plastic tableware is rather practical than elegant be aware of this if you are looking to find a fancy dinner location. But the food is really good!!
It was my second visit at this restaurant. The first time, it was a bit hard to find the restaurant. I didn’t have any problems ordering like previous reviewers, as i am local and speak korean. Had Jjajangmyeon both times and was very satisfying. Although most of the menus are expensive and for many people, there are also single-dish(single-person) menus (jjajangmyeon 짜장면 being one of those). The cost was 6,500 won for a Jjajangmyeon, which in my opinion is not expensive at all. Would recommend going in a group though, so that you would have a choice to share a big dish, as well as having a single-dish by yourself.
