Kaku - Sendai

Sitting at the bar area must order the appetizer(about 550yen). Feeling not very good. Order 1 set actually sent 2 sets.......facepalm...The average price for one person is about JPY 2,500 to 3,500, which is more expensive. Only eat the tongue of the cow instead of beef, the CP value is a bit low....

One of the best Gyuutan restaurants in Sendai! My husband and I went to lunch on a weekday and we sat right away. We ordered the 6-piece Gyuutan Set menu for ¥1850 each. Unlike other Gyuutan restaurants, their Gyuutan slices were thicker and incredibly soft and tasty! Unfortunately, they do not accept payment by credit card. Luckily we had enough money to pay for our food! Recommend this restaurant!

This place is great to try to local beef tongue dish. It’s is hard to find the entrance, but it is from the Main Street and you need to go to the basement. Smoking is allowed but you hardly smell it. The food is tasty and interesting, and you must try the tomato salad. Keep in mind that the credit card limit is 3500 per person!

There is generally a line here, so prepare to wait if you intend to come here. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit overrated. Yes, the beef tongue is generally thicker, and cooked nicer than others. But I am not sure it justifies the additional cost over others. Most of the extras (e.g miso flavoured condiment) here are optional extras rather than part of the set, and there is a sit down fee as well which is absent from most other gyu-tan restaurants. There is also a time limit as well, all of which takes away the experience a little.

The best in class. Love to come here. The Gyu tongue really thick, juicy, soft and crispy. This restaurant is highly recommended. By the way, you must always be able to wait about 15-50mins depending on the time you visit.
