I recently discovered a Subway in a small town called Senath, MO. Unfortunately, the experience was only fair, not good or great. To be fair, the Southern hospitality is always present, with friendly staff and respect, but like other places I've tried here, the quality and portion sizes just fall short. It seems like corporate oversight and training might be lacking in these small towns, leaving local locations to do the best they can, which unfortunately means missing the mark on what Subway should offer. Visiting these places is nothing like enjoying a true New York-style pizza or an authentic Chicago-style pie, which local communities in Illinois can easily replicate. These brand techniques should be teachable and consistent. Subway should be a reliable oasis in an otherwise uninspiring fast food landscape, but that’s not the case here. My visit today was disappointing—not because of the friendly counter staff, but due to the poor quality and smaller portions, which seems common in this part of the country. A real shame. She kept... read more I visited Subway today, and if I could rate this franchise a zero, I would. The manager was openly rude and disrespectful in front of other customers. She kept arguing with me and embarrassing me because she messed up my order, which I had paid for, and then refused to give me a refund. The worst part is that she said, "I'm not giving any refund," before even looking into or addressing the issue. She really should be fired. Her behavior made the company look terrible.
