We regularly order butter tarts and pies from Country Mart. If you want any large quantities you are best to call and order ahead. We have also ordered cakes, eclairs and cheesecakes. All are quite good, although the butter tarts are the best! View all feedback.
What Charles Masse doesn't like about Country Mart Bakery:
After reading the reviews, I came here explicitly for the butter tarts, one of my favorite desserts. They may be good but pricey at $2.00 a piece. I was hoping to find ciabatta rolls or French bread but the bread choice was limited so off...to Foodland across the street. View all feedback.
I frequent country mart weekly as my customers love the butter tarts so I bring a dozen to meetings when possible. The tarts have flakey shells and perfect cooked centres. The pies, samosas and sandwiches are also equally delicious. Sandwiches are made with fresh bread and home made ingredients including slow roasted roast beef.Staff are excellent and always try to speed up the wait as they can be busy.Worth the stop when in buckhorn.Ps they have more then baked good including ice, pop, fireworks, propane, unable rentals...just ask
A nice find for us. Great place to have a sandwich made or order some great bakery items. Very good coffee at a reasonable price and very good service with a smile.

I drove right by Country Mart Bakery, not thinking it could have much to offer but my cottage hosts showed me an article listing it as one of the stops on the Kawartha Butter Tart Trail. We dropped in to try one, and they were so good I placed my order for more to pick up and take home with me the next day. The baking area is open to see from the front counter and the tarts are baked daily. The staff are very accommodating to take special orders for no-sugar pies. I asked if they could make pecan butter tarts with extra nuts and a little less filling, and they gladly obliged! Tarts are $1.75 each and not sickly sweet, but smooth and buttery with generous flaky crust. Veg samosas for $1 each were also available and great as a nice filling snack to enjoy on their front porch, for the cottage, or for the drive home. Worth a visit when you visit the Kawarthas!
On Vacation this Bakery is outstanding, but a little pricey. Pies, tarts, cookies all are very good. Nice people that work there.
