A&W - Selkirk

My wife and I went to the A&W Selkirk MB location last evening (June 20th) around 7:00 p.m. for supper. There were only a few people in the restaurant when we arrived. There were two employees working behind the counter. One on the till for the restaurant and the other on the till for the drive-thru.My wife ordered the veggie burger and was told it would be a few minutes as they are made to order. I ordered the Teen Burger, Onion Rings and a root beer. I paid for our meal and the staff member indicated she would get our drink and she would bring the food out to us. She placed the drink on the tray and said to wait as our order was up. She then checked the food slots and said it was not up and she would bring it to us.We sat at a table and my wife had to wipe it off. It appeared someone had ate their, removed their trays but the table was not wiped. The table beside us appeared to be the same.We waited for about ten minutes listening to orders from the drive-thru going out as well as watching people come in and order and leave with their food. Our food finally arrived and the staff member apologized for the wait. My teen burger was falling apart in the paper holder. The patty seemed smaller than the actual bun. I'm not sure if my patty had broken but about a quarter of it fell out of the bun and ended up on the floor.My wife tried the onion rings and they were cold. Not warm but cold. I don't know if they were sitting under an air conditioning vent but they were not enjoyable. My wife took the basket of onion rings back and asked if it was possible to get some hot onion rings. They said it would not be a problem. We sat there talking and could here orders of onion rings being called for the drive-thru and as well as take out orders in the restaurant. People were coming and going with their orders but no sign of our replacement onion rings. A friend stopped by for a short visit. Our onion rings were still not out. I was getting ready to just leave when my wife went to the counter to ask about our order. They said they would bring them right out.A few minutes went by and the onion rings were brought to our table. The staff member again apologized. These onion rings came right from the deep fryer as they were very hot.We like A&W but this was definitely an off night for them.

Nice place. Clean facility. Tables are clear with lots of room to sit. The service was good, very quick turn around on our order. And the Teenburger was everything we expected. It's was well made and tasted great.

Great burgers and onion rings, service is OK. Rootbeer's are ice cold in ice chilled mugs. Great location in the middle of Selkirk.

A & W has upgraded their burgers without changing the traditional taste of this long time favorite local restaurant. The Selkirk A & W support the Memories Show & Shine car show with a booth that serves their famous root beer floats. Can't think of a better way to quench your thirst on a hot summer day. They also hand out the best root beer candies at the Selkirk Christmas parade.

A and W has a good burger family selection Very tasty and a good toppings Prices are reasonable. Quick service Good staff and a clean restaurant
