I spoke a little on our first day in Iceland and I am glad that we have made a good choice. We had the 3 course. Excellent lobster soup (taste a little like creamy coconut laksa/curry) and lobster tails. Even the bread and the sauces were great. Cakes were so-so and we'll skip them if we have a chance to visit again.

This place has totally lost its charm it used to have. Quality of the food not to the standards it should. When discussing this, only thing mentioned by staff is that this is very unfortunate and difficult for them to know the quality of the Langoustine. I must say that I was disappointed by the way my complaints were handled. I will not be going there again.

Unfortunately there is a new cook who does not appreciate that lobster should not be cooked to a dry state and the pan drippings to being caked and stuck to the pan. The cucumber and carrots are pickled and the salad had pickle juice on it. Too bad. Suggest that an Icelandic cook, who knows how to cook seafood, be hired to train this one.

You had better like langoustine because there are few options. Also, bring an appetite, the smallest of the langoustine dishes was a half-pound. The meal starts with langoustine soup, then langoustine with garlic, followed by dessert (which I didn't have). Plus bread and greens on the side. The meal was tasty, but a bit messy as you will have to shuck the langoustine by hand (after they cool off a bit).

We were recommended to this restaurant as it was our friends’ favorite meal when they visited Iceland a few years ago. It is about a 10 min drive south of Selfoss. The three course meal consisted of (magical) langostino soup warm, delicious, with a little spice at the end. Second course was langostino tails in a garlic and oil sauce with roasted potatoes. The sides were two nicely complimentary salads, one of greens and the other a cucumber and red onion with balsamic vinaigrette. Third course was dessert. The only two left were the carrot cake and chocolate cake. Both delicious. Worth the visit! Wait staff very pleasant.
