The owner was very friendly and even treated us to some apple tea. The place is small, with just a few outdoor tables, but the abundance of flies made the experience a bit annoying. We ordered çöp şiş as it is the signature dish of this region and it was genuinely the best I ever had. Service is fast and the portion size is quite good. Highly recommended! One of the tastiest and healthiest meals we have had in a while. We ordered several of the small plates of stuffed peppers, stuffed aubergine, grilled aubergine... read more One of the tastiest and healthiest meals we have had in a while. We ordered several of the small plates of stuffed peppers, stuffed aubergine, grilled aubergine and stuffed aubergine. it was a great [vegetarian] meal in itself. We also ordered the chicken wings that were perfectly grilled on skewers. Flavorfully charred on the outside, very moist inside. Menu was easy to understand for non Turkish speakers and the owners were friendly and welcoming. Location was convenient to station and its pleasant seating area has a nice view of the storks nesting on top of columns of what, I think, are the old aquaducts. The area of Izmir that we are staying in is mostly doner based menus, so this felt like a nice treat for us.

Great location right beside the Byzantine aqueduct. A raft of local information and a scrap book signed by some quite famous international guests
