We decided to call in and try out the restaurant. The premises have recently been refurbished and to a high quality. The restaurant was superb, staff were attentive and friendly and the food was superb and it was served piping hot too View all feedback.
What Emilyofyork doesn't like about Comus Inn:
We went to the restaurant on a sunny Saturday afternoon and there was only one other table with customers. It was very quiet and lacked atmosphere. The news was playing on TV, followed by Bargain Hunt. I would have preferred some music. I tried to order a Pinot but they didn't have any, so I settled for a gin and lemonade which had what appeared to be cork in the glass. My "chicken breast" burger seemed to be made fr... Stayed at this hotel as attending a wedding which was 5 minutes walk away. Had food at the restaurant which was lovely. That’s all I can say that was good about our stay. We had a dusty, small room with cobwebs and carpet that needed hoovered. No bin; had to ask for one. Quilt had a plastic covering on it which meant the quilt cover slipped away from it. Not enough toilet paper supplied for our stay. 4 teabags provided for 2 of us for 2 nights, but 2 of the teabags weren’t covered (obviously taken from a bigger box), so probably covered in dust as well. No milk provided, kettle lid didn’t shut properly (which could cause a scald), and also didn’t switch itself off! No hairdryer in room despite saying there would be one. No WiFi in the room but it is available in the pub. Interference on the TV so crackly picture on some channels. Noise from extremely busy road directly outside was dreadful so was unable to open the window because of it, which made the room ridiculously hot. No instructions on what to do with the key as we checked out as the check in area in the pub we arrived at was closed until 12 midday.
Fantastic Turkish restaurant, if you’ve been to Turkey and experienced the great Turkish food then this is a for you, genuine Turkish staff with plenty to tempt you on the menu, we went as a party of six and ordered a mix of starters to share which was more than enough as you also get a complimentary ballon bread each and a couple of meze dips, the main courses where lovely and the was of really good quality the drinks were really well priced been part of pub, we were served by by a lovely young Turkish waitress who was really polite and made sure we got we got exactly what we ordered . In terms of value for the six of us with a couple of drinks each, starters and mains was £170 so represented good value for the quality of the dishes we had, the restaurant and the pub is really well kept with good parking and outdoor seating an park. If your missing your Turkish holiday or want to warm up before you go this place won’t disappoint A1 from all of us.
Absolutely beautiful Turkish food !!!! Extremely well presented, freshly cooked, looks amazing and taste out of this world!! Baklava dessert also beyond belief !! Try this hidden gem you certainly won’t be disappointed
Visiting family and the COMUS was exactly what we needed. Superbly clean and comfortable as well as good value for money. Helpful staff. The rooms are quite small but they have everything you need for your stay. Didn’t have time to visit the pub, maybe...
Food ok. staff could do with having manners. Were rude and rushing to get you out, so could fill the table you left. will not be returning
