I come to Southport occasionally and am always looking for the best place for lunch and today my wife and I tried the café inside the Atkinson. I had a chicken and bacon wrap which clearly freshly made and with nice salad, together with a good strong espresso. My wife had a lovely tuna melt panini and americano coffee. Stopped for a quick drink and a cake. Even though it was late in the afternoon service was very good and order delivered quickly. Sat outside in the late afternoon sun. Not the cheapest had during the week but excellent homemade cake. View all feedback.
The hot chocolate served in a latte-style glass mug with a generous amount of real cream on top, alongside chocolate and marshmallows, was absolutely delicious. The cozy atmosphere of the place was very inviting and I would definitely return to try more items from the menu next time!
After exploring the exhibitions, we stopped by for lunch today and both ordered the ploughman's lunch. It was fantastic! The plates were filled with delicious lean ham, a generous portion of Lancashire cheese, chutney, and plenty of salad. We were impressed by the high quality and generous portion sizes of the food. The staff were efficient and polite, and the restaurant was clean. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful little gem of a restaurant!
I went to this restaurant for the pre-show meal deal, which at £12 for three courses is excellent value. The staff were friendly and provided good service. The food was delicious, although my main course could have been a bit hotter. The variety of cakes looked very tempting as well. I would definitely come back again.
I don't write many reviews but I felt compelled to write a review for this lovely cafe! We booked a three course pre show meal for £12 (amazing value) and every course was delicious! Home cooked, really tasty, and service with a smile from the friendly and attentive staff. Cannot recommend enough, we will be back!
Lovely food but tables not wiped down and cups/plates not removed in a timely manner. The staff are young and lovely but don't notice the accumulating mess.
