Truly I think I'd give them a 4.5, and only because I've had some truly amazing Mexican food in my lifetime. The margaritas were FABULOUS creative, flavourful, and refreshing. The chili coconut and guava were the favorite of our group. The coconut shrimp were a must order, and the guacamole was fresh and so yummy. Tacos were good, but just not quite 5 stars for me. I do highly recommend a visit! View all feedback.
What Austin Rasmussen doesn't like about 89agave Cantina:
Called at around 7pm to make a takeout order. Was told they are not taking any more orders as the kitchen is busy and they are packed full. Drove by about 30 min later when heading to another restaurant and the place is barely 25% full. Oh well… View all feedback.
Great fajitas, salsa, and table-side guac! Upgrade your margarita by getting Fortaleza tequila.
They automatically add 20% for parties over 6 and thats completely understandable. What isn't understandable is leaving a $100 tip when the service was awful. The guacamole appetizer arrived after we had received all our food, and to our surprise without the chips. Took us a good 10 minutes to chase someone down for them to bring us some. We never got asked if we wanted more drinks, and we ended up going to the bar to get more. Our waters were never refilled. The customer service was completely absent. I I understand that we were a huge group but we made a reservation ahead of time and management didn't prepare and that's not the guests fault. The manager seemed to be caught off guard when I told him we weren't okay with the amount of tip we had to leave behind, and the server was very condescending after the whole ordinal, very unprofessional. The sever made comments about the whole situation, like he was trying to make us feel guilty for our decision to change the tip amount. The food was okay the enchiladas were alright and the tortilla soap was very thick, that was not soup rather a chowder.

Fabulous dining experience. Music and service were great too. Stand outs were tamales and enchiladas. Awesome guacamole made tableside.
Tasty but expensive and crowded. Eating in downtown Sedona is touristy.
