We were visiting my dad for his 50th birthday and we wanted to be close to NYC but not in the city. This hotel is perfectly located near the NJ transit and Uber’s are able to find you quickly at the front of the hotel. We had room 201 which was fully equipped with a kitchenette and all the little things we needed. The staff, Michelle and Amanda were both super welcoming and friendly. Always smiling and chatty even af... View all feedback.

Disgusting that I requested a roll away bed and it's not even possible for the room we booked and the manager refused to comp is a room for the two nights and kept trying to say it was an issue with booking and I had proof it was booked and requested properly. Proved there was no additional charge on the website either. The front desk clerk has to handle everything also and that's not very efficient. He was nice howe... View all feedback.
Candlewood Suites is in a great location! On our first day there we drove less than 5 mins to reach the Secaucus Junction and rode the train into the city for $17 /person round trip. For the remainder of the trip we used Uber and it was about 20-30 mins depending on time of day. The rate also depended on time of day. We were in town for a dance competition at the Meadowlands Plaza and this hotel was close to that location. As far as the hotel, it's not a 5 star, but that wasn't to be expected. My 3 star rating comes from the fact that I booked a 2 bed suite with kitchen for my daughter and I and when I arrived I was told the manager had decided that since one occupant was a child that we would only need 1 king bed. My daughter is 16. Bold of them to assume. Thankfully, the lady working the desk at our 10pm check in offered a roll away bed and even managed to work it into our room by herself. She then offered free refreshments from the store area. Parking is free, internet was free, there was an option to grab breakfast from the store room but I don't believe it was free. The room was clean. The kitchenette was fully stocked. We utilized door dash for breakfast and late dinners daily due to spending so much time in the city and there was a wide variety of restaurants in the area. In short, we would probably stay here again but I would advise that management take note of what is requested on a reservation and not to alter based on their opinions or options to gain more money.
I have visited many hotels iof the IHG group, in different places (countries) and this is one I can tell you that the staff is willing to help. In Paraguay it has always been a place to call home, but now here I found the same willingness. Thanks team
We pulled in from a long road trip from Kentucky, not knowing if we'd be able to check in, but wanting to get over to NYC ASAP. We had a limited amount of time to see the Big Apple while in New Jersey for our a dance competition! The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, kind and friendly (sadly I forgot their names . They got us quickly into a room (even with a bit of a view! and gave us advice on traveling to and from NYC. We were very pleasantly surprised by the room, full kitchen and all the amenities in the room. Later that evening we came in soaking wet from a drenching evening in NYC and again was surprised very happy to have the complimentary use of washer and dryers (with 3 teens, 2 adults, very wet shoes, backpacks and purses it was so needed ! The GM (Alfredo was working the night shift and was beyond helpful each of the 2 nights we stayed! We will most definitely refer family and friends! The best place we stayed the whole 11 day 4 state trip! Wish we'd known about them sooner and booked with the location earlier! Thank you to all of the hard working staff y'all have! We appreciated the kindness, generosity and friendliness!. A side note, this is an extended stay location so no pool or breakfast. However, they have an awesome lending library for much needed items like umbrellas, toaster oven, crockpot, board games etc. They also have a gym facility as well as a pantry to purchases snacks and such. It's also a quick 11 13 min train ride from Secaucus Junction to Penn Station in NYC. There are paid lots to park in next to Secaucus Junction so you can park there (just watch the lot address if you pre purchase and a short 2 5 min walk to the Junction. Trains run regularly. Awesome location and Fantastic Service!
This is the nicest hotel I really enjoyed my stay, love how this hotel is clean and the staff is just amazing. We recommend this hotel to anyone traveling and staying withing the NJ and NYC area. Best property in town. The Browns and Payne and Stanley
