Chaska - Secaucus
Chaska
Description
Nestled in Journal Square near the Ramada, this casual Indian eatery earns praise for friendly owners, standout chicken dishes and a reliably flavorful menu—especially chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and mango lassi. Diners praise takeout and delivery, though experiences vary: food can be phenomenal and mild-adapted for local palates, but service and timing are inconsistent, with occasional long waits, missing items and lacking utensils. Best for visitors seeking approachable, authentic flavors and regulars willing to order in advance.

First-time customers are served quickly, and the food is average in taste. However, during our second and third visits, the service was noticeably slower, and it took quite a while for our dishes to arrive.
Great food reasonably price highly recommend to go there. Nice staff we love the food and visited twice during our visit.
The burgers are incredibly juicy, and the food overall is excellent. The owners are wonderful and very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place more than once!
In my opinion, this is undeniably the best Indian restaurant in Journal Square. I recently relocated to Harrison, but I will continue to visit Journal Square just for their Indian food. I don't know what it is, but their chicken is exceptional, and nearly every dish I've had has been fantastic. While I haven't tried every single item on the menu, I've never been let down by any of my choices. Whether I've dined in or gotten takeout, the quality is consistently impressive here—it's truly outstanding!
The chicken malai tikka was surprisingly lacking in the creamy elements one would expect; it was tough and bland. The paneer tikka was just as disappointing. We eagerly awaited our tandoori appetizers for an hour, but when they finally arrived, they were all hard and flavorless. It really put a damper on our mood!
