I can't rave enough about my experiences at Guatemex! The food, management, and service are all top-notch! Every visit has been a delightful and satisfying experience. The dishes are fresh, beautifully seasoned, and always a joy to savor! My wife and I have been dining here for a year and a half, and we've never been disappointed. We probably come in at least twice a week, and we never get bored with it because both the food and service are consistently excellent!
The grocery store section is excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the sweet tea tasted like it was made from an instant mix, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the food was the worst Mexican cuisine I've ever experienced. I really wanted to enjoy it, but that just wasn't possible.
Although my coworker firmly believes that Taco Tuesday is the best, I would happily enjoy tacos at every meal. I'm really pleased that this restaurant is conveniently located near my office. On my first visit, I had the pupusas, which were outstanding. Unfortunately, the pupusa expert wasn’t there during my last visit, but it allowed me the opportunity to explore other items on the menu. The tacos were absolutely fantastic and definitely the highlight of my meal! I tried the al pastor, asada, and lengua, and each one was delicious. You can choose between cooked or fresh onions, and each taco is generously topped with cilantro and avocado. The corn tortillas have a lovely, slight char from grilling. I also tried the freshly fried sopes, which were piled high with meat and toppings. They start you off with chips, and each person gets their own dish of salsa, which is a wonderful touch! You can even ask for hot or green salsa if that’s your preference. The staff taking orders are very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
