Found this coffee shop while spending the day in West Seattle, and I am SO GLAD I stopped in!! The barista showed me the summer specials menu, so I ordered the Iced Brown Sugar Latté with Shaken Espresso, which was yummy and not too sweet! Also the Spinach Cheese Bun which was filling and the perfect size. The interior is super cute and bright, plenty of spaces to sit down or work. Will definitely be back next time I... What M Veronica V doesn't like about West Seattle Grounds:
Came for coffee over the weekend, even though the place was empty, the baristas were not customer forward, coffee was ok and had an overall disappointing coffee experience. Wish we had gone somewhere else in west seattle. View all feedback.
What a wonderful spot! The cold brew and buttermilk donut were amazing! Once we relocate to Seattle, this will surely become one of our go-to places.
The noise might have contributed to the unwelcoming demeanor of the young man who took our food order. He mistakenly served my Sriracha breakfast sandwich without any Sriracha. When I brought this to his attention, he seemed indifferent and just made excuses, claiming there was some Sriracha on it... somewhere (which there definitely wasn’t). My husband noted that his breakfast sandwich was bland, and he couldn’t even tell if it contained real cheese. He thought that just a sprinkle of Trader Joe’s onion salt could have made a huge difference, and I completely agreed—these sandwiches were tasteless, and even the bacon lacked flavor. I pointed out the missing Sriracha while holding my wooden plate (which raises hygiene concerns) and the young woman behind the counter offered a lackluster “Oh, I’m sorry” before turning back to her drink orders. As we sat down, I couldn’t help but notice that the white leather chairs were not only dirty but also frayed at the edges, making them look like they had come from a garage sale owned by a cat lover. I might have overlooked their shabby appearance if they weren't so filthy, which made me question who was managing the place, if anyone was. It was clear that the owners had a vision, but the execution was lacking. Whether it was the subpar food and service or the rude crowd treating the place like their personal hangout, we didn’t feel welcomed. The coffee was also unimpressive, and I didn’t sense the community vibe they advertised—unless it involved standing in aisles and blocking pathways. Do yourself a favor and find a better coffee shop. This place really seemed more suitable for pets than for people.
Although the shop is smaller than some of the nearby cafes (the picture shows a larger size for reference), I didn't mind it at all, especially considering the reasonable prices. Sometimes, the large drinks at other places can feel a bit too much. If you're in the area and enjoy great coffee, I highly recommend checking it out—it's absolutely worth a visit!
They make an outstanding chai tea latte! There are numerous seating options, and it's convenient to plug in if you'd like to enjoy your coffee there. It's a charming local coffee shop.
I discovered this coffee shop while exploring West Seattle, and I'm so glad I did! The barista told me about their summer specials menu, and I couldn't help but try the Iced Brown Sugar Latte with Shaken Espresso. It was incredibly tasty and perfectly balanced—not too sweet at all! I also enjoyed the Spinach Cheese Bun, which was both satisfying and just the right size. The interior is beautiful and bright, with plenty of seating options ideal for relaxing or getting some work done. I will definitely make it a point to come back the next time I'm in the area!
