Feedback
Thai Ocean offers a mixed dining experience with some patrons enjoying the food and service while others finding it lacking. The restaurant has been praised for its outdoor patio seating, hearty portions, and friendly owner and server. However, some diners have criticized the automatic gratuity added to bills, inaccurate charges, and lack of customization options for spice levels. Despite mixed reviews, loyal customers have been returning for years citing delicious dishes like Crab Rangoon and Pumpkin Curry. Overall, Thai Ocean offers a convenient location near Greenlake and a decent option for Thai cuisine in Seattle, although not without its flaws.
My partner and I had a very enjoyable dine in experience. The food was good but clearly designed for takeout. However, I must add that any loss in quality is made up for in quantity. I have never received such a large portion at a Thai restaurant, which was preferable for a man such as myself. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoyable. The decor is pleasing, as there are a bazillion plants and a fish tank. Would recommend.
Below average Thai food *for Seattle*, but it 's in a good location and is open 'late ' compared to most other similarly priced restaurants around Greenlake. Good service too even for large parties. If you dine here, I 'd recommend the panang curry. Know that it doesn 't include rice by default though. The curry isn 't too spicy either it 's barely a kick, and I have low spice tolerance so I thought it was perfect. Didn 't love the pad Thai or pad see ew both lacked depth of flavor and noodle texture was kind of dry. Overall, a mediocre Thai spot compared to other options in Seattle (Wallingford in particular), but it 's affordable and is a solid meal after a walk around Greenlake.
The pumpkin curry was incredible. I'm still thinking about it.
Great Thai food for small groups. The place is not big for a large party but loves the food
Great food, best pad Thai we've ever had. Mediocre Mongolian beef (too sweet, sauce tasted only like hosin and was pretty thick). Excellent panang and Tom Kai gai. This is our go to Thai place
