The best friend and I are visiting from Houston and stayed in an Airbnb a block away. We each got a salted cream cold brew and split a chocolate chip cookie. They. Were. PHENOMENAL. The coffee, the cookie, delicious. I wish I lived closer to have again and again! View all feedback.
Perfect for working--beautiful bamboo tables and open windows to let in summer breeze
This place is a cafe straight out of k drama. Full of bright natural lightings, white interior with big windows, clean and modern touches throughout the cafe. Great hangout spot for study or a date. Because of the interior and lighting, you can take some great pictures! Drinks- we tried affogato with sweet alchemy icecream in it and since we are a fan of the sweet alchemy's rich creamy ice cream, it was really good. Mocha was very smooth and I liked the texture of it. Unfortunately matcha was just sold out so will have to come by next time to try out Match latte.
Stopped in late afternoon (9/23/17) to checkout a Yelp bookmark. As I suspected from the address and posted photos, that the former Bustle is now S&L Cafe (barista said new owners since June). Don't confuse them with the J&M Cafe in Pioneer Square. Guess I can recycle my Bustle punchcards, but S&L does have an online loyalty program. Nice to be back on my former street W. McGraw...lived across Macrina next block over. Ample two hour street parking and on the Metro Route 2 in proximity to S&L. Pretty much the same layout, probably a straightforward turnkey transfer. Bright, natural light from the front windows. Loved the featured photos of dogs and their pet parents. Smooth instrumental music for the few laptop patrons present. As reported by other Yelpers: coffee beans from Heart Roasters in Portland, OR. Artisanal ice cream from Sweet Alchemy. I had to ask though where their baked goods were from....Standard Bakery in Pinehurst/North Seattle. Before driving to S&L, I get this email from Yelp about this hot and new spot to check out. Standard Bakery. Btw I was the first to post. Double face palm. More Queen Anne tidbits. Way back when, there was a Standard Bakery (no relation) and an S&M Market (yes, groceries not the whips and chains variety) at the intersection of QA and Boston. A mindless digression of the Seattle I remember from the 1980s early 1990s. Anyways, totally lowkey and chill here. Probably was nuts earlier for the breakfast set, but then there's Macrina a block over. Nice sign during my visit here, constant flow of additional customers. I had to smirk though as a young couple with a stroller came in inquiring about pour overs with cold brew on the ice cream. The barista stated, oh you mean a shot of espresso, called an affogato. Seattle is such a hilarious coffee town. Just sell coffee ice cream or on a stick like Seattle Pops. lol As they left, literally 9 additional people came in. Sun's out on the first Saturday of autumn. Compelling reason for the rush for Sweet Alchemy ice cream. Good to see the continuance of another indie, neighborhood cafe, S&L.
I love finding hidden gems like this cafe! When you walk in I was greeted with this clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed interior. I also got a very welcoming vibe from all the natural light coming through which is a big plus for me! Another thing I digged was something you don't see in a lot of cafes, which was this naturally separated area that looked like a quiet area that would be great for jamming on some work. Came with my favorite girl and stayed for the coffee, dessert and the vibe. Will be back.
Nice chic study spot. Plenty of outlets and seating. I usually get the americano and destroy it with a ton of creamer and it is delish. Indie funk music in the background. Today I got the pumpkin spice late and it was divine. Not overly sweet and a great texture. They have a small case of eatable treats that I haven't tried but am always tempted by. Large windows on two sides and outdoor seating if you bring a cute pupper along : it's always nice and clean and seems to be popular for studying or catching up with a friend. Has a trendy vibe to it. Street parking nearby.
